Where to BEGIN?
- Start by reviewing the grade 3 lessons. The practice drills will be especially useful. Start at lesson 1 and work your way through; the drills are SUPER SHORT.
- Official entry point - LESSON 4 - Intro to "C". Work through the lesson, transitions, and try reading the music page.
- NEXT - do LESSON 5 - "Big Bad BAG". Once you complete the lesson and practice, send me a video of you playing the song for your YELLOW STRIPE BELT
- NEXT do LESSON 6 - Intro to High "D" for review. Work through the lesson, transitions, and practice with the assigned songs. Video yourself playing "When the Saints go Marching In" for your ORANGE STRIPE BELT
- When you reach LESSON 7 you are officially in Grade 4 belt ADVANCED TERRITORY. You can now PLAY and READ all the notes in your LEFT hand. Time to add the RIGHT HAND with LESSON 7 - Intro to Low "D"

Introduction to LOW D (AND USING YOUR RIGHT HAND!)
Watch the video. Practice your (low) D-transitions, then work on "Ode to Joy". This Version of the song has one LOW D.
Once you can play "Ode to Joy" at tempo, (should be easy since you worked on it during your High D' practice), pick either "An Irish Jigsaw Puzzle,", Sleepy Brother John" or "Hush Little Baby" to work on for your GREEN BELT!

Introduction to F#
Watch the Lesson video. Practice your Right hand Transitions from F#, then work your way through your left hand transitions including F#. Then, work on "Happy Birthday", "Twinkle", "Down in the Valley", and or "La Bamba" (the recorder part is introduced half way through the La Bamba video. Once you can play one or more of these songs at tempo, challenge "Kumbaya" or "Michael Finnegan" for your PURPLE BELT!
